September 24: Read Proverbs 11:27-30

WORD FOR THE WEEK: SEEK

When we diligently search for something, including truth, the word that comes to mind is seek.

Today’s scripture lies in the wisdom of the proverbs and encourages the practice of seeking good. In doing so, we find favor with God. On the other hand, if evil is sought, it will be found.

Trusting in riches ends in poverty, while seeking righteousness fosters prosperity. Wisdom understands that the inheritance of a family lies within the love of its bonds and therefore avoids
foolishness.

The positive discoveries found in these few verses culminate into the wisdom of saving souls. This is what we should seek after—because our Father seeks for such men and women who will worship Him!
