When a child was born blind under the Mosaic law, the inquisitiveness of the people was to understand where the sin line existed that caused the illness. This was a reasonable consideration because of the law of generational curses.
During Christ’s ministry on earth, He passed by a young man who was blind from birth and the question was raised by the people, “Who sinned and caused this boy to be born without sight?” The crowd received an astonishing answer: “Neither the
parents or the child sinned. He is blind so the works of God can be manifest through him.”
Jesus then spat on the ground, made clay from His spittle, rubbed it on the boy’s eyes, had him go wash in the pool of Siloam, and then his blindness was gone!
Some suggested that Jesus was a sinner, but the blind man responded, “Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.”
