September 22: Read Hebrews 13:10-16

by Brenda Bowers PhD on September 22, 2020

Sacrifices offered prior to Christ’s shedding of His blood on Calvary’s cross occurred outside of the walls of the gate of the temple. The high priests were anointed and sanctified to offer the sins up for the people before God.

At Calvary, Jesus went through the same process for us and His Father received the offering from Him for the sins of the world— mine and yours. He sanctified us through His blood.

We, in turn, should sanctify ourselves so the work on the cross is
not in vain. We can do this by continually offering the sacrifice of
praise to the Lord, using our lips to bless His holy name.

Our heavenly Father is also pleased when we communicate and do good one toward another. This is a demonstration of sanctification being alive and well in our hearts, not just our mouths.

Is it your prayer that the mighty work of our Savior is a sanctifying power and standard you daily live by?
